Planted pansies in pots for the front porch. They're color-coordinated to the pots they are in (yes I DO channel Martha Stewart when it suits me . . .) and the pot on the post at the bottom of the stoop stairs also has an upright fuschia in its center. I love fuschias & I'd never seen the upright variety for sale before, so I thought that would be more interesting than say, a geranium or a gerbera in the middle of the pansies. The fact that fuschias also appreciate partial shade was also a contributing factor, since I wanted consistent blooming for the posies that decorate my mini-porch, as they're among the first things a visitor to my place sees. The pansies on the porch are burgundy or burgundy & white -- I think the variety of one of them is "Delta Rose Shades" -- but those on the afore-mentioned post pot are various light purple shades with the fuschia being a pastel pink with a darker shade of pink in the center.
